Assemblage/ Dawn Karlovsky and Dancers
“Assemblage,” an evening of contemporary dance by St. Louis choreographer, Dawn Karlovsky premiered in 2006. In her 8 years as a resident of St. Louis, Ms. Karlovsky extended herself throughout the community working and collaborating with musicians, visual artists, poets, actors, and of course, dancers. She was joined by seven other local, professional dancers to present her choreography that has been described as physically challenging, thought provoking, and emotionally honest. Additionally, Ms. Karlovsky presented an experimental collaborative work with local musician, Tory Z Starbuck, and a hauntingly beautiful dance/film project with musical composition by cellist, Mitsu Saito.
