A yoga practitioner for over ten years, Tom Brady incorporates the philosophy and movements into his work. The performance/operas are used as Koan, a riddle, a paradox, an aid in meditation and a means of gaining intuitive knowledge. 3Row Poles to Enlightenment is quickly becoming his signature piece. This work independent of a narrative armature, asks the audience to search for and ultimately rely on their own inner spiritual interpretation, trusting their hunches, opening doors to their secret meanings. Brady’s work is an evolution of his exploration into self and the power of transcendence. The work provides evidence of a deeper plane of existence – a state of being achieved through the focused contact with ones inner power. The work explores states of consciousness achieved by altering the physical realty.
