Piece Description:

Claire Archer, an experimental botanist, strives to create a new species.  Tom, Dick, and Harry (her soulmate, lover, and husband respectively) each hold her back from her work.  She finds herself caught between societal expectations and the possibilities her work offers.  Will she break through or be broken?

The Larks are an ensemble focused theatre group committed to telling relevant and challenging stories.  Actors, dancers, writers, thinkers, the Larks believe that the performer can transform an empty space into something alive.

Lucas Reilly (Director) is a theatre artist who has been in STL for 4 years.  His laboratory work is focused on giving the audience a complete experience of poetic and heightened texts.  Recent projects include Brecht’s translation of Antigone, Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, and an original work called Power which focused on the effect of pop music on young women.
